Overview

NeurIPS is a flagship machine learning conference that featured around 2,000 papers on various areas of machine learning in 2020. Crowd research is an integral part of machine learning and dozens of works relevant to this area were published this year. In this talk, Alexey Drutsa and Alexey Volobuev discuss selected NeurIPS papers on crowd science and share their perspective on the trends in crowd research.

Alexey Drutsa
TolokaAlexey Drutsa is responsible for data-driven decisions and the ecosystem of the Toloka crowdsourcing platform. His research on various areas of machine learning is published at ICML, NeurIPS, WSDM, WWW and other leading venues. Alexey is a co-author of several tutorials on efficient A/B testing and crowdsourcing (KDD, WSDM, CVPR) and is a co-organizer of the crowdsourcing workshop at NeurIPS2020.Profile link

Alexey Volobuev
TolokaAlexey Volobuev is an ML research engineer at Toloka. He is also a PhD student in the Institute for Information Transmission Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Alexey’s research interests include general machine learning and additive combinatorics.
