Toloka Research Fellowship Program
The Fellowship Research Program at Toloka invites students and researchers to advance data-centric and human-centric AI research. Over a 3 to 6-month period, participants will work on a project under expert mentorship. This program offers hands-on industry experience, opportunities for professional growth and chances to contribute to publications.
Program Details
Duration: 3-6 months
Commitment: Part-time or full-time project work, requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Location: Flexible. Participants can work online or in-person. Toloka has offices in Amsterdam and Belgrade, but remote participation with online mentorship is welcome.
Eligibility: Open to students and junior researchers from diverse academic and professional backgrounds.
Research Areas
Participants will work on cutting-edge on projects in areas such as:
Developing evaluation metrics and benchmarks to measure model performance in complex tasks.
Enhancing synthetic data generation techniques with human feedback.
Designing methods to improve data quality and evaluating its impact on model performance.
Advancing AI agents’ capabilities and enabling effective collaboration with human experts.
Identifying model vulnerabilities and addressing safety issues, bias detection, and mitigation.
Developing NLG metrics to assess model-generated text quality across various tasks and domains.

Who We’re Looking For
You might be a good fit if you:
Are passionate about AI research, particularly in data-centric and human-centric AI methods.
Have a background in computer science, machine learning, or related fields.
Possess strong Python programming skills.
Are currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program, or are a postdoc.
Are self-motivated, capable of working independently on research projects, and open to feedback.
Are willing to align your working hours with Central European Time (CET). While we don’t provide visa support, remote work is fully possible.
Bonus Points for Candidates With:
Experience in AI research projects.
Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) or Vision Models.
A track record of publications or open-source contributions.
